High Power Committee empowers DTF to decide on total lockdown in Nagaland

The High Power Committee (HPC), Nagaland on Wednesday decided that no total lockdown will be imposed in Nagaland. However, it has empowered the District Task Force (DTF) of Dimapur and Kohima to hold a meeting and decide on total lockdown in their respective districts.

Decision of the HPC was taken in an emergency meeting held to discuss the increase in demand for total lockdown in Nagaland. The meeting was chaired by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio who is also the chairman of the committee.

According to official sources, four police personnel of West police station, Dimapur and two staffs of Dimapur railway station were tested COVID 19 positive on Wednesday.

As precautionary measures, the Dimapur police have partially closed the general access to West police station and the Dimapur railway station is likely to be closed .

However, Dimapur police said that the public may contact police helpline service no 7085055034 for any emergency services.

Meanwhile, according to reports, one person died at a paid quarantine centre at Hongkong market area in Dimapur. Till the time of filing of this report, the cause of the death is yet to be ascertained.
