Manipur resumes issuance of inner line permits today

The state government suspended the issuance of ILP on March 18 as a measure to prevent the outbreak of COVID-19 from reaching the state.

The issuance of Inner Line Permit (ILP) will resumed from Tuesday in all designated offices/ police stations of the state, official sources said on Monday.

Special secretary (Home), Manipur H Gyan Prakash Sharma on Sunday issued a notification directing all the offices concerned to comply with the instruction.

The state government suspended the issuance of ILP on March 18 as a measure to prevent the outbreak of COVID-19 from reaching the state, it said.

The special secretary in a statement earlier stated that no permits, except for special cases, will be issued by any competent authority.

Gyan Prakash had also requested the tourists and visitors who require an inner line permit to postpone and not to visit the state till the threat of the spread of COVID-19 recedes to a reasonable level.

In the statement, he also requested all citizens of the state to curtail visits outside the state except for only absolutely unavoidable ones.
