The office of the alcohol based herbal, ‘Marjing Hand Sanitizer’ company was inaugurated on Saturday at the College of Agriculture, CAU, Iroisemba, Imphal by Inner Lok Sabha MP RK Ranjan.
The sanitizer was manufactured by Marjing Industries Private Limited and formulated by Council of Scientific and Industrial Research-North East Institute of Science and Technology (CSIR-NEIST), Branch Laboratory, Lamphelpat with support from TMH Green Private Limited, Tokyo, Japan.
Senior principal scientist CSIR-NEIST, Branch Laboratory, Lamphelpat H Birkumar Singh while delivering his speech said, considering the price hike and unavailability of hand sanitizers they have developed the hand sanitizer in just 12 days.
All the raw material used in developing the hand sanitizer is easily available in the state, he added.
He also informed that the recommended homemade sanitizer by the World Health Organisation (WHO) is just for emergency purposes and not for frequent use, as if people use it frequently there will be side effects.
The chief guest of the function RK Ranjan lauded the team for their ideas and skills and for taking a great initiative of ‘Make in Manipur’ policy.
Ranjan also launched a pineapple pulpy juice ‘Queen’ developed by Green Biotech Eco-solution Private Limited and supported by Central Agriculture University.
