Strict surveillance against COVID-19 underway in Jiribam

As part of precautionary measures taken up by the government to contain COVID-19, the survey is being carried out especially in the areas which have been declared as containment zones.

Different areas of Jiribam district have been kept under strict surveillance through door-to-door survey and identification of people with COVID-19 symptoms with the help of Anganwadi and ASHA workers are underway.

As part of precautionary measures taken up by the government to contain COVID-19, the survey is being carried out especially in the areas which have been declared as containment zones. 

Chief medical officer, Jiribam, Dr E Okendro said that the Anganwadi and ASHA workers are presently carrying out the survey by visiting households in Kalinagar Part I to III to identify people with COVID-19 symptoms or suspected cases.

One of the workers, L Gunamanjuri told that they are tracing people who returned to or visited Manipur in the last 15 days, COVID-19 fatalities and people with contact history with positive persons. 

She also said that they are always prepared to inform the health department if there are any suspected cases.
