13 Assam Rifles jawans test positive for COVID-19 in Mizoram

Twenty-nine people tested positive for COVID-19 in the state on Thursday.

Thirteen Assam Rifles personnel are among those 29 people tested positive for COVID-19 in Mizoram on Thursday. With this development, the tally of Mizoram COVID-19 cases has reached 267.

According to the Health department, 5 personnel of Border Security Force (BSF), a personnel of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), 10 civilians are other persons who were tested positive for the disease.

It can be noted here that, on Wednesday, 5 BSF jawans were tested positive for COVID-19 in Mizoram.

With the latest update on COVID-19, Mizoram has 107 active cases and 160 recovered cases.

Currently, Mizoram is strictly enforcing the new guidelines as the State government had extended lockdown till July 31.

Curfew is being imposed from 7:30 pm to 4:30 am every day under the new rules which will be effective till July end.

There have been inter-district movements of people since July 1. The people in the State are also adhering to the 'odd-even' number system of traffic, except on Sundays.

Meanwhile, border areas, both inter-state and international, continue to be sealed. However, the three entry points---Vairengte and Bairabi along the Assam and Mizoram border and Kanhmun along the Mizoram-Tripura border are opened for transportation of commodities.

These new guidelines and rules may change after the current lockdown period gets lapsed.
