Assam reported 13 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday, taking the total number of coronavirus cases in the state to 539, including 470 active cases and 62 recovered cases.
Taking to Twitter, state Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that swabs for testing were taken before people were sent for quarantine. Of the new cases, seven were from Kamrup Metro and six were from Golaghat.
"13 new cases of COVID-19 reported. Swabs for testing taken before people sent for quarantine. Seven Kamrup Metro, six Golaghat," Sarma tweeted.
Assam has so far reported four deaths due to COVID-19.
Meanwhile, over 600 passengers arrived in the state on the first day as the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) Airport, Guwahati resumed operations on Monday after nearly two months closure of air services due to the COVID-19 lockdown, reports said.
