Nagaland COVID-19 tally rises to 896

The COVID-19 status update from Health Minister S Pangnyu Phom said that 24 cases of COVID-19 were reported from Kohima on Tuesday, 20 from Peren, three from Dimapur, two from Longleng and one each from Zunheboto and Mokokchung.

Nagaland recorded 51 fresh cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, taking the total tally to 896.

The COVID-19 status update from Health Minister S Pangnyu Phom said that 24 cases of COVID-19 were reported from Kohima on Tuesday, 20 from Peren, three from Dimapur, two from Longleng and one each from Zunheboto and Mokokchung.

With this update, Longleng district has registered its first COVID-19 cases on Tuesday. While the rest 10 districts in Nagaland have their shares of the pandemic, Kiphire is the only district in the state that has not reported any case of COVID-19 till date.

It may be noted here that the state had recorded the highest single day spike of COVID-19 cases on Monday, with 71 new cases of the disease.
 
Meanwhile, though the number of COVID-19 cases is rising sharply in the past few days, people in the state are carrying out their daily chores as usual.

The state’s commercial hub Dimapur continues to witness brisk business activities even though the main two markets---New Market and Hongkong Market---in the heart of the city are yet to open.

It may be mentioned here that the markets open from 9 am to 2 pm daily except on Sundays.
