Area around 109 Bn, CRPF, Imphal declared containment zone as one personnel tests positive for COVID-19

One personnel of 109 Battalion CRPF, Mongsangei, Imphal West who have been quarantined at the premise of the same battalion was tested COVID-19 positive on Tuesday.

In view of the above report, Imphal West DC Naorem Praveen on Tuesday declared the surrounding area of the battalion as a containment zone, thereby imposing restrictions in movement of people to prevent the spread of the infection in the area. 

The restriction areas covers up to the approach road connecting the main entrance of the battalion in the North, IVR connection Mongsangei Makha Leikai and Mayai Lambi road in the South, Mongsangei ground in the East and Indoor Hall and Gym of the battalion in the West.

The restriction order includes sealing of geographical area, restrictions in entry and exit of population from the containment area, closure of schools, offices, if any and banning public gathering of any type, banning vehicular movement in the area, initiating active surveillance of COVID-19 cases and compulsory use of ‘Aarogya Setu’ application by all the people staying within the containment area.

“Any person, institution or organisation found violating any of the containment measures should be deemed to have committed an offence punishable under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860,” mentioned in the order.
