The Rongmei Naga Youth Organisation, Manipur (RNYOM) has alleged the Rongmei Naga Council Manipur (RNCM) of subscribing to a political party in a matter of paying a support visit to the recently elected MP of Manipur, Leishemba Sanajaoba.
The intention may be for a supposedly good but implication matters in respect of safeguarding the tribal identity and as a reputed tribal organisation, every Rongmei citizen must be informed and responsibly safeguard the interest of and vision of the people, said a release. No element of belittling and defaming the good name and prestige of the people should be allowed by any leaders or organisation whatsoever, it stated.
Civil bodies are not to subscribe to any political organisation or parties, it said while adding the recent reflection of RNCM team led by Kenaan Kameih paying an official visit to the contesting MP candidate has given a wrong picture and shown immaturity of the Rongmei Tribal Organisation, the release said.
“The president has openly stated to show our support and pray for the success of the supported candidate. The ethics and prestige of the organisation is miscarried and dishonored. The fact has created division of opinions and weakened the bond of unity of the people,” RNYOM stated.
Therefore, considering the given facts, RNCM led by Kenaan Kameih is urged and informed to clarify and seek public apology for committing blunders against the interest of the people, it added.
