Two more jawans test positive for COVID-19 in Mizoram

According to the health department, one of the two jawans developed COVID-19 symptoms while the other is asymptomatic.

Two more personnel of Border Security Force (BSF) tested positive for COVID-19 in Mizoram on Thursday. With this, the number of BSF personnel tested positive for COVID-19 increased to 12.

According to the health department the fresh cases of COVID-19 confirmed from the two BSF personnel are from Serchhip district. The two jawans are from 60 Battalion of BSF. They have a travel history to Assam.

The health department said that the two BSF personnel were placed under quarantine prior to testing of their samples for COVID-19. Their swab samples were tested at Zoram Medical College in Aizawl on Wednesday night.

One of the two jawans developed COVID-19 symptoms while the other one is asymptomatic, the health department said.

Recently, 15 National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) personnel and four Assam Rifles personnel also tested positive for COVID-19 in Mizoram.
 
All 35 primary contacts of 15 NDRF personnel tested negative for COVID-19, the health department added.
