The Manipur College Teachers’ Association (AMCTA) has stated that it has resolved to call off its ceasework strike that was scheduled from February 12 but kept suspended since February 11, following an announcement made by the chief minister.   

A release stated that the resolution to call off the ceasework strike was taken during an emergency executive committee meeting that was held online on Wednesday.

 

The AMCTA has resolved to urge the government to implement the 7th UGC pay scales and UGC regulations, 2018 in total. The meeting also resolved to demand the government to adopt a clear cabinet decision before reopening of the colleges, it said.

The decisions have been made since the college teachers are not in the position of launching the strike/agitation at the moment due to the pandemic, it added.
