Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Wednesday inaugurated five PHED projects, which were constructed at an estimated cost of Rs.4,831.46 lakh, through video conferencing from the Chief Minister's Secretariat in Imphal in the presence of PHED Minister Losii Dikho.
The five newly inaugurated water supply projects include Porompat Integrated Water Supply Project, Sangakpham IWSP, Canchipur IWSP, Heingang Awang Leikai Water Supply Scheme and Churachandpur Water Supply Distribution Network.
"Providing tap water to every household in the country by 2024 is the target set up by Hon'ble PM Narendra Modi ji. Five water supply projects have been inaugurated today at different places which were constructed with an estimated cost of Rs.4831.46 lacs. The projects include 1. Porompat Integrated Water Supply Project 2. Sangakpham IWSP 3.Canchipur IWSP 4.Heingang Awang Leikai Water Supply Scheme and 5.Churachandpur Water Supply Distribution Network" CM Biren said in a Facebook post.
The chief minister also inaugurated two other projects- Office building of Controller of Legal Metrology and R&D Center, Lamphel (CAF&PD), and COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Testing Centre at Jiribam, via video conferencing from the CM’s Secretariat in Imphal.
Meanwhile, representatives of All Manipur National Health Mission Employees Welfare Association (AMNEWA) met CM Biren to press their demand for regularisation of all contractual staff of National Health Mission.
CM Biren has assured to have the matter examined in detail at the level of Principal Secretary (Health) and appealed to them to withdraw their cease work strike in view of the ongoing COVID-19 crisis.
