Manipur on Friday recorded 28 new COVID-19 positive cases, taking the state's tally to 1,25,098 while the death toll mounted to 1,968 with two more fatalities, according to the latest update by the state health department. The positivity rate is 1.9 per cent.
The two COVID-19 fatalities recorded on Friday were from Imphal West. Both deceased had co-morbidities and were not vaccinated, according to a release issued by State COVID-19 Common Control Room.
As per the release, Imphal West and Imphal East continued to report the highest number of new COVID-19 cases with nine and 11 cases respectively. Three cases were reported each from Kakching and Ukhrul and one each from Bishnupur and Tengnoupal.
The state also recorded 39 new recoveries, taking the cumulative number of recovered cases to 1,22,456. The recovery rate is 97.89 per cent, the release added.
Manipur now has 674 COVID-19 active cases, as per the release.
Meanwhile, a total of 482 D-type Oxygen Cylinders and 91 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours.
As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered the vaccine has reached 21,27,145 (first dose: 12,74,832 second dose: 8,52,313). The cumulative number of people who have been vaccinated in the state with first dose is 54.46 per cent and for second dose is 36.41 per cent, it mentioned.
