India's COVID-19 active caseload continues to fall; daily cases surge back above 10000-mark

The active cases account for less than one per cent of the total cases, currently at 0.32 per cent; lowest since March 2020.

India’s daily COVID-19 cases surged back above 10000-mark as 10,549 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours, according to the latest updates issued by the Union Health Ministry on Friday.

However, the country’s recovery rate improved to 98.33 per cent, highest since March 2020 with 9,868 more recoveries recorded in the last 24 hours that pushed the total recoveries to 3,39,77,830.

With it, India's COVID-19 active caseload stood at 1,10,133. The active cases account for less than one per cent of the total cases, currently at 0.32 per cent; lowest since March 2020.

The daily positivity rate (0.89 per cent) less than two per cent for the last 53 days, while the weekly positivity rate (0.89 per cent) less than one per cent for last 12 days.

Meanwhile, Rs 120.27 crore vaccine doses have been administered across the country so far under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive.

The country’s total Covid-19 case reached 3,45,55,431, while the death toll mounted to 4,67,468 with 488 more Covid-19 deaths reported.
