The Congress party, Akali Dal and the Aam Aadmi Party have been supporting the movement of farmers against the three laws.

Devbrata maintained that the prime minister made the announcement to repeal the three laws taking into consideration the suffering of the farmers. The actual reason could be the upcoming Assembly elections in five states, including Manipur, added Devbrata.

He pointed out that of the total population of the country about 82 per cent of lifeline of people are based on agricultural produce, 72 per cent are farmers and 50 per cent of the total voters of the country are farmers.
