The National Students Union of India (NSUI) has demanded mass promotion for the first year and second year undergraduate students, to ensure that the student’s future and their careers are not affected by the pandemic.

Moreover, normal classes have been stopped since last week of March and as a result, the students will not be able to fully prepare for the examination, he added.

Informing that 32 students who sat for Karnataka SSLC examination by following the standard operating procedure were tested positive, the president appealed to the government to cancel the conduction of any kind of examination.

Regarding the final year students, Bankimchandra appealed to the government to arrange an alternative to complete their graduation by checking the performance of the students’ pasts. Rajasthan and Punjab have declared mass promotion to undergraduate students, he said.

The president also appealed to private school authorities of the state to exempt school fees considering the welfare of the students.

If the school authority is facing too much burden in providing the salary of the teachers, the school authority can appeal to the government to provide half of the school fees for the students, he added.
