Manipur on Saturday recorded 46 new COVID-19 positive cases, pushing the state's tally to 1,24,047 while the death toll mounted to 1,931 with one new fatality. Consequently, the positivity rate stood at 4.1 per cent, according to the latest update by the state health department.
The single COVID-19 fatality recorded on Saturday is from Churachandpur. The deceased had co-morbidities and was fully vaccinated, according to a release issued by State COVID-19 Common Control Room.
As per the release, Imphal West and Imphal East continued to report the highest number of new COVID-19 cases with 30 and seven cases respectively. Three cases were reported each from Kakching, two from Tamenglong and one each from Kangpokpi, Kamjong, Ukhrul and Thoubal.
The state also recorded 57 new recoveries, taking the cumulative number of recovered cases to 1,21,415. The recovery rate is 97.88 per cent, the release added.
Manipur now has 701 COVID-19 active cases, as per the release.
Meanwhile, a total of 264 D-type Oxygen Cylinders and 89 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours.
As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered vaccine had reached 20,03,644 (first dose: 12,52,719 second dose: 7,50,925).
