The JAC of Fisheries Cooperative Society on Thursday retracted its earlier stand and announced that it will participate in the Fish Fair-cum-Fish Crop Competition, 2021.

During a press meet, JAC convenor Salam Joy said the decision was taken after Fishery Minister S Rajen Singh gave his assurance in view of Ningol Chakouba festival.

Earlier, around 254 cooperative societies had come together and decided to stay away from the annual fish fair, citing the non-payment of National Cooperative Development Society (NCDC) subsidies worth around Rs 39 crore of the total Rs 129 crore to beneficiaries from Imphal East, Imphal West, Kakching and Bishnupur districts.
