A one-day Legal Awareness campaign on the topic ‘Issues and challenges faced by senior citizens’ was organised at the Old Aged Homes of Imphal East district, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Imphal East in collaboration with Manipur State Legal Services Authority (MASLSA) under the aegis of National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) as a part of the 75th Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav on Thursday.
District and Sessions Judge, Imphal East RK Memcha; Chief Judicial Magistrate N Lanleima; Retainer Lawyer Th Raghumani Singh; Panel Lawyer B Supriya; Media Coordinator S Devananda and advocate K Gopal attended the said programme.
RK Memcha spoke on various legal provisions relating to rights of senior citizens and answered queries from the inmates about their legal problems, family problems etc. Food, sanitisers, masks and blankets were distributed to the inmates.
