Manipur on Tuesday recorded 70 new COVID-19 positive cases, pushing the state's tally to 1,23,403 while the death toll mounted to 1,915 with two more fatalities, according to the latest update by the state health department. The positivity rate is 3.3 per cent.
The two COVID-19 fatalities recorded on Tuesday are from Bishnupur and Kangpokpi. None was vaccinated, according to a release issued by State COVID-19 Common Control Room.
As per the release, Imphal West and Imphal East continued to report the highest number of new COVID-19 cases with 34 and 20 positive cases respectively. Five cases were reported each from Ukhrul, four from Chandel, two each from Bishnupur and Churachandpur and one each from Kakching, Tamenglong and Thoubal.
All precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, it stated.
The state also recorded 81 new recoveries, taking the cumulative number of recovered cases to 1,20,615.
The recovery rate is 97.74 per cent and the number of COVID-19 active cases in the state dropped to 873 from Monday's 886, as per the release.
Meanwhile, a total of 705 D-type Oxygen Cylinders and 89 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours.
As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered vaccine had reached 19,05,378 (first dose: 12,43,234 second dose: 6,62,144).
