Over 500 locals of Laipham Khunou, Imphal East have benefitted from a one-day facilitation programme on various government schemes under the supervision of Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Saturday at community hall of Laipham Khunou Youth Development Association (LKYDA).
Speaking to media persons on the sidelines of the programme, LKYDA general secretary Ng Rakeshore said that many people are facing various problems while getting the benefits provided by the government. Though the state government has provided various schemes mainly for the weaker section, people of the area are unable to get the benefit, he added.
In order to avail the benefits provided by the government the local club organised the one-day programme on correction of Aadhaar and enrolment of CMHT and PMJAY, followed by opening of bank accounts, distribution of old age pension, enrolment of voters and enrolment for labour cards, said Rakeshore.
The facilities to get enrolled in the various government schemes have been provided to the people of the area so that they do not have to go to the concerned department. The programme has also helped the elderly persons in getting the government schemes in easier way, he added.
Rakeshore appreciated Chief Minister N Biren Singh who is also the local MLA of the area, for making the programme organised in an effective way.
