A brick-paved inter-village road (IVR) of Konsam Leirak under Charangpat GP ward No 6 of Wangkhem assembly constituency was inaugurated by MLA K Meghachandra on Friday.
The construction work of the road was taken under the MLA line department of MGNREGS of Charangpat GP.
Inaugurating the brick-paved lane, Meghachandra said that the project is estimated to be Rs 37.15 lakh and all the paving works were done by the job cardholders and ward members of the area during COVID-19 lockdown period.
So far, seven such brick-paved IVRs within the Charangpat GP have been inaugurated, and two more will also be inaugurated soon before the state Assembly election, he added.
He further said that brick paving maintains better quality than black topping in the roads.
