Manipur Governor La Ganesan pays homage to fallen AR soldiers

The governor visited the headquarters of IGAR (South) in Imphal East to pay homage to the fallen soldiers of Assam Rifles

Manipur Governor La Ganesan on Friday visited the headquarters of IGAR (South) in Imphal East to pay homage to the fallen soldiers of Assam Rifles by laying a wreath in their honour at the memorial site. 

During the visit, Ganesan also felicitated various war veterans and former servicemen for their service to the nation and Veer Naris for their sacrifices for the country. He also distributed prizes to meritorious school children for their excellent, academic performance even during the difficult times of COVID-19 pandemic.

The governor was also briefed by major general Alok Naresh on the role and contribution of the Assam Rifles to maintain peace and tranquillity in Manipur.

An update on civic action programmes undertaken by the Assam Rifles to assist the people of the state was also given to the governor. 

While interacting with the officials and troops of formation of the Assam Rifles, the governor encouraged them to continue their good work and service to the nation.
