Khongman Fencing Academy excelled with the overall team champion title of the 17th Governor's Cup State Level Fencing Championship 2021 held at Indoor Stadium, Khuman Lampak on Wednesday.

KHFA fencers finished the championship, collecting 108 points, winning the Mini Boys and Girls, Sub-Junior Boys and Girls, Senior Men's and joined winners with SAI in Cadet Boys category for the overall team champion title. In the process, KHFA also emerged as overall Champion Boys and overall Champion Girls in the meet.

SAI RC took the runners up title with 87 points, winning the Junior Boys and Girls, Sub-Junior Girls and Senior Women's category. YDO fencers won the Cadet Girls category.

It may be mentioned that 12 fencing units participated in the championship.

In the Sub-Junior Boys Epee event, Zenith of KHFA claimed the gold beating Naresh of YDO while Priyojit of KHFA and P Debendra of SAI settled for the bronze medals.

As for the Sabre event, M Denial of KHFA got the better of his compatriots N Jemikanta for the gold and silver medal while N Saolin and N Saion, both of SWC Khongman, took the bronze medals.
