Churachandpur: 100 children admitted in hospital with breathing problem, two test COVID-19 positive

Approximately 10 children with fever and breathing problem are admitted to the Churachandpur district hospital every day.

Constant rise in sickness among children with fever and breathing problem was witnessed in Churachandpur district in the past few days and approximately 10 children are admitted to the district hospital every day.

So far, 100 pediatric patients were admitted and 60 of them were discharged. Two of the patients were tested COVID-19 positive, one two-month old and another two-year old.

Presently, there are 40 children admitted at the district hospital of the children ward which has only 33 beds and half of the patients are on oxygen supply. Seven of the pediatric patients have to be given oxygen supply in the corridor of the hospital. The children who are suffering are mostly infants of two or three years of age.

Experts said that it may be due to seasonal change from summer to winter, which normally affects children.

An official source said that there was one case of Influenza-A virus subtype H3N2However, 35 negative cases and four inconclusive samples were found out of the 40 children who were tested for influenza in the hospital.
