The affected landowners/claimants Longmai (Noney), residing along NH -37 on Thursday jointly put forward their demands to the deputy collector (LA) Noney to release their compensatory amounts at the earliest.
The landowners affected by the widening of National Highway-37 expressed that the delay in payment or disbursement of the compensatory amount would mean escalation of tensions among the claimants whose claims are genuine and legal.
The affected landowners had submitted a petition on Thursday to the deputy commissioner Noney for a clarification on the delay in providing the compensatory amounts, and further demanded that a third party should not affect the 102 claimants whose documents and signatories for payment had been endorsed to the deputy collector (LA) Noney for disbursement of compensation amount in the first phase.
The affected claimants warned that the authorities concerned shall take full responsibilities for any eventualities or agitation resulting out of delay in disbursement of compensatory amount.
They further urged the deputy collector (LA) Noney to release the compensation amount to the affected claimants, who have no objections to the land acquisition process in Longmai Bazar, so that the contractors can start their expansion and development work of NH-37 without any interruption.
