Kharkhola in Kalapahar area can be ‘Darjeeling of Manipur’: Nemcha Kipgen

Kangpokpi MLA Nemcha Kipgen said that Kharkhola in Kalapahar area can be turned into ‘Darjeeling of Manipur’ considering the beauty and topographical condition of the area.

Attending the closing ceremony of Durga Puja Open Football Tournament 2021 at Upper Kalapahar, the MLA said that the chief minister during the ‘Go to Hills 2.0’ programme has rightly pointed out that without political stability, government developmental projects cannot be accomplished perfectly and for that matter people need to exercise their roles as a citizen.

The closing ceremony of the Durga Puja Open Football Tournament organised by the Upper Kalapahar Gorkha Youth Club was also attended by former ADC Sadar Hills member, Milan Pradhan as functional president.

During the programme, Nemcha also appreciated the Gorkha community for their relentless contribution towards a peaceful society and lauded the Upper Kalapahar Gorkha Youth Club in organising such a grand sports event during Durga Puja stating that festivity with the fervor of sports always instil a spirit of oneness.

In men’s football, IT Camp Hengbung lifted the men’s football champion trophy as it defeated Leimakhong Gorkha by 2-0 goals. The Champion team was awarded with a cash prize of Rs 30,000 with trophy and the runner-up team was awarded with a cash prize of Rs 15,000 with a trophy.

In women’s football, IT Camp Hengbung defeated Charhajare Gorkha by 3-0 goals and lifted the champion trophy with cash prize while Charhajare Gokha team was the runner-up.
