Manipur’s daily COVID-19 positive tally drops to 105

No COVID-19 related death was reported in Manipur on Monday.

Manipur on Monday reported 105 new COVID-19 positive cases, including five from the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF), while no COVID-19 related death was reported in the state in a span of 24 hours, according to the latest state health department.

A total of 13,26,876 tests have been conducted in the state so far, of which 1,794 test results were received on Monday. The day's positivity rate dropped to 5.9 per cent on Monday from Sunday's 7.4 per cent.

With the addition of the new positive cases, the state's COVID-19 confirmed caseload reached 1,22,108, including 1,885 deaths and 1,707 active cases.

The new COVID-19 positive cases included 50 from Imphal West (including two CAPF personnel), 24 from Imphal East, 14 from Pherzawl, six from Ukhrul (including two CAPF personnel), four from Thoubal, three from Bishnupur, and one each from Churachandpur, Kakching, Senapati and Tamenglong, a release issued by the state COVID-19 Common Control Room stated.

All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, the release stated.

Manipur also recorded 127 new recoveries, pushing the cumulative number of recovered cases to 1,18,516 and the recovery rate to 97.06 per cent, it stated.


Meanwhile, a total of 652 D-type oxygen cylinders and 174 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities of the state in the last 24 hours.

The release further stated that the cumulative number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the state reached 17,72,983 (First dose: 12,31,236 and second dose 5,41,702).

According to the release, there are 444 vacant general beds and 102 ICU/HDU beds of COVID-19 in seven hospitals of Manipur.

In CMC, Koirengei (Contact No. 9612636004/9612905628) there are 27 vacant general beds and eight ICU/HDU beds; in Iboyaima Hospital, Singjamei (Contact No.7005436870/ 9612022125) there are 25 vacant general beds and five ICU/HDU beds; in Jivan Hospital, Kakching (Contact No. 9366034272/ 7085348366) there are 20 vacant general beds and five ICU/HDU beds; in Shija Hospital (Contact No. 9436807346/7005125158) there are 45 vacant general beds and 37 ICU/HDU beds; in Raj Medicity (Contact No.7005105552/9366496411) there are 79 vacant general beds and 21 ICU/HDU beds, in RIMS (Contact No. 7640862396) there are 206 vacant general beds and 26 ICU/HDU beds and in JNIMS (Contact No. 8131855346) there are 42 general beds.
