Speaking at the inauguration programme, MLA Vashum thanked the land donor, headmen, well wishers, neighbouring villagers and his native villagers who had come to witness the inauguration of the New Tusom Higher Secondary School.

Stating that he will pay the admission fees of those students who have not taken their admission, Vashum said that he encourages government schools as he has also studied in a government school. He also exhorted the students to fear God as the fear of the lord is the beginning of knowledge.

"I am giving my special focus on children’s education. Supporting the willing students who could not afford for further education is my joy," he stressed.

Vashum also extended his gratitude to Chief Minister N Biren singh, Education minister, Education department and ZEO Ukhrul for selecting and upgrading New Tusom Frontier High School to the level of a higher secondary school.
