150 more persons test COVID-19 positive in Manipur, tally surges to 1,22,003

Manipur reported three deaths on Sunday, taking the death toll to 1,885.

Manipur's COVID-19 tally on Sunday surged to 1,22,003 after 150 more persons tested positive for COVID-19, while three more persons died due to the infection in a span of 24 hours, according to the latest update by the state health department.

As many as 13,25,082 tests have been conducted so far in the state. On Sunday, a total of 2,020 test results were received, of which 150 were found positive for COVID-19. The day's positivity rate increased from Saturday's 6.6 per cent to 7.4 per cent on Sunday, as per the update.

The new COVID-19 positive cases included 61 from Imphal West, 38 from Imphal East, 13 from Kamjong, nine each from Churachandpur and Ukhrul (including one CAPF personnel), five from Thoubal, and one each from Chandel, Kangpokpi and Tamenglong, a release issued by the state COVID-19 Common Control Room stated.

All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, the release stated.

The death toll mounted to 1,885 on Sunday as Bishnupur, Thoubal and Ukhrul reported one death each. Of the three victims, two had comorbidities and none were vaccinated, it stated.

The number of COVID-19 active cases in Manipur is 1,729 as of Sunday. The state recorded 134 new recoveries, taking the cumulative number of recovered cases to 1,18,389 and the recovery rate is 97.04 per cent.

Meanwhile, a total of 1,033 D-type oxygen cylinders and 159 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities of the state in the last 24 hours.

The release further stated that the cumulative number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the state reached 17,70,749 (First dose: 12,30,951 and second dose 5,39,798).

According to the release, there are 445 vacant general beds and 103 ICU/HDU beds of COVID-19 in seven hospitals of Manipur.

In CMC, Koirengei (Contact No. 9612636004/9612905628) there are 26 vacant general beds and eight ICU/HDU beds; in Iboyaima Hospital, Singjamei (Contact No.7005436870/ 9612022125) there are 25 vacant general beds and five ICU/HDU beds; in Jivan Hospital, Kakching (Contact No. 9366034272/ 7085348366) there are 20 vacant general beds and five ICU/HDU beds; in Shija Hospital (Contact No. 9436807346/7005125158) there are 48 vacant general beds and 36 ICU/HDU beds; in Raj Medicity (Contact No.7005105552/9366496411) there are 77 vacant general beds and 21 ICU/HDU beds, in RIMS (Contact No. 7640862396) there are 204 vacant general beds and 26 ICU/HDU beds and in JNIMS (Contact No. 8131855346) there are 45 general beds and two ICU/HDU beds.
