Manipur logs 147 new COVID-19 positive cases, zero death

A total of 2,229 test results received on Saturday of which 147 were found positive for COVID-19.

Manipur's COVID-19 caseload on Saturday reached 1,21,953 with the addition of 147 new positive cases, while the death toll stood at 1,882 with no new death case reported in a span of 24 hours, according to the latest update by the state health department.

The new COVID-19 cases were among the 2,229 test results received on Saturday. The day's positivity rate is 6.6 per cent. As many as 13,23,062 test results have been received in Manipur so far, as per the update.

Imphal West continued to report the highest number of daily COVID-19 positive cases with 79 (including two CAPF personnel) new cases on Saturday. The other positive cases included 32 from Imphal East, nine from Thouba, six from Ukhrul, five each from Bishnupur and Chandel, three from Churachandpur, two each from Kakching, Kamjong and Senapati, and one each from Kangpokpi, and Pherzawl, a release issued by the state COVID-19 Common Control Room stated.

All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, the release stated.

A total of 114 persons were discharged on Saturday. With these new recoveries, the cumulative number of COVID-19 recovered cases reached 1,18,255 and the recovery rate is 97.05 per cent, it stated.

Manipur has 1,716 COVID-19 active cases as of Saturday.

Meanwhile, a total of 791 D-type oxygen cylinders and 153 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities of the state in the last 24 hours.

The release further stated that the cumulative number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the state reached 17,64,927 (First dose: 12,30,350 and second dose 5,34,577).

According to the release, there are 431 vacant general beds and 105 ICU/HDU beds of COVID-19 in seven hospitals of Manipur.

In CMC, Koirengei (Contact No. 9612636004/9612905628) there are 26 vacant general beds and eight ICU/HDU beds; in Iboyaima Hospital, Singjamei (Contact No.7005436870/ 9612022125) there are 25 vacant general beds and five ICU/HDU beds; in Jivan Hospital, Kakching (Contact No. 9366034272/ 7085348366) there are 20 vacant general beds and five ICU/HDU beds; in Shija Hospital (Contact No. 9436807346/7005125158) there are 48 vacant general beds and 38 ICU/HDU beds; in Raj Medicity (Contact No.7005105552/9366496411) there are 76 vacant general beds and 20 ICU/HDU beds, in RIMS (Contact No. 7640862396) there are 200 vacant general beds and 24 ICU/HDU beds and in JNIMS (Contact No. 8131855346) there are 36 general beds and five ICU/HDU beds.
