India reports highest COVID-19 recovery rate

The country reported 21,257 new COVID-19 cases that pushed the total confirmed caseload to 3,39,15,569 as of Friday.

India’s COVID-19 Recovery Rate climbed to 97.96 per cent, highest since March 2020, as 24,963 more people were reported recovered and the total recoveries across the country reached 3,32,25,221.

The country also reported 21,257 new COVID-19 cases that pushed the total confirmed caseload to 3,39,15,569, while the death toll mounted to 4,50,127, according to the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry.

However, the country’s COVID-19 active caseload stood at 2,40,221; lowest in 205 days, the ministry stated, adding that the active cases account for less than one per cent of the total cases, currently at 0.71 per cent, lowest since March 2020.

As the situation improved, the weekly positivity rate at 1.64 per cent, remained less than three per cent for the last 105 days, while the daily positivity rate at 1.53 per cent, less than three per cent for the last 39 days.

Meanwhile, 58,00,43,190 total tests have been conducted and 93,17,17,191 vaccine doses have been administered across the country so far under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive.
