Role of local clubs strongly needed to eradicate drug menace in Manipur: MLA Indrajit

As many as 59 people in the field of education, sports, art and culture and others were felicitated during the programme.

The need of the hour is collaboration of local clubs and government to guide the youths in the right direction, said MLA Nahakpam Indrajit during the 9th Felicitation Function held at Ibudhou Pureiromba Community Hall, Bamon Kampu, organised by Pureiromba Youth Club.

Attending the function as chief guest, Indrajit said that the state has been consistently facing the impact of drug menace. To eradicate this issue and carry the youth in the right direction, the role of local clubs is strongly needed.

He further said that as education is the backbone of the society, all possible efforts will be given to impart quality education in his assembly constituency.

Mentioning that the state government has provided free smartphones to below poverty line students to attend their online classes, he assured to extend more support to those students of his assembly constituency who are facing issues regarding education.

Indrajit also appreciated the local club for taking sincere responsibility in promoting educated persons in his assembly constituency.

Other dignitaries who attended the function were Bamon Kampu Zila Parishad member, Golmei Kachungna; Pureiromba Youth Club, Bamon Kampu former chairman, Radheshyam Irengbam; and BKGP up-pradhan, pradhan in-charge, Nongthombam Akeshor as special guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
