Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav: International Day of Older Persons observed in Churachandpur

The older persons were sensitised about voter's awareness before and during the election time.

The International Senior Citizens Day was observed on Friday at New Mata village, Churachandpur district as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

The programme was jointly organised by the District Social Welfare Office, Churachandpur and Social Human Action for Rural Empowerment (SHARE) Society, Mata. It was attended by Churachandpur DC, Pawan Yadav; DSWO, A Tamphasana; and Mata village chief, Lallunkam as chief guest, guest of honour and functional president respectively.

Gifts were presented to older persons on the occasion and at the sideline of the programme, a SVEEP campaign was also organised led by SVEEP district nodal officer H Doungel. The older persons were sensitised about voter's awareness before and during the election time. People above 80 years of age were instructed to stand in queue to cast their votes by informing their booth level officers (BLOs).
