The Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy, Imphal on Monday announced that it is going to organise a ‘three-day Festival of Dance and Music (Nata Sankirtana) from September 28 to 30 at the Academy Mandap.
Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) Leishemba Sanajaoba, Minister of Agriculture, Veterinary and Animal Husbandry and Tourism Oinam Lukhoi Singh, former director JNMDA and national awardee Dilip Mayengbam Singh, retired Pradhan Guru JNMDA S Thanil Singh and director incharge JNMDA P Bilash Singh will attend the inaugural function as the chief guest, guests of honour and president on September 28 at 2 pm, JNMDA stated in a release.
On day one of the festival, there will be formal function, Nata Sankirtana (Sheihou) by the students of JNMDA and Nata Sankirtana (Sheisin) by the artiste of Prachya Nata Sankirtana Samaj Khurai Thangjam Leikai, it stated.
On day two, there will be Nata Sankirtana (Sheihou) by the artiste of Public Theatre Association, Phoijing Nambol and Nata Sankirtana Sheihou) by the artiste Indra Kala Bhavan, Moirang Thoiya Leikai, Moirang, it mentioned.
There will be a performance of Nata Sankirtana (Sheihou) by the artistes of the Nata Sangeet Academy and Research Centre, Yaiskul Janmasthan, Imphal and Nata Sankirtana (Sheisin) by the artistes of Guru Gulapi Nata Sankirtana Academy, Kwakeithel Nganappithong, Imphal on day three, it added.
