Rising Athletic Union, Lairikyengbam Leikai will test their ability against Classic Football Academy, Chingmeirong in the final of the 1st Colonel Khetrimayum Arunkumar Memorial Futsal Tournament 2021 at 2pm at Poloi Artificial Turf, Chingarel Tezpur on Tuesday.

In the first semi final of the tournament, Classic Football Academy displayed great aggression in their attack to run down Star Sporting Club, Porompat defence in regular interval to come up with 10-1 goals victory enroute to the final in style.

The first 10 minutes of the play seemed to be quite challenging as Classic FA took the lead with Gogocha Chungkham in the third minute and Samson Keishing scoring in the 8th minute. But Star Sporting Club rallied back with Md Afzal Shah finding his team's opening goal in the 11th minute, but sadly that turned out to be their only goal of the match.

Putting more pressure, Classic FA did further damage to its opponent reputation with Ganningam Malangmei firing home his hattrick goals as did first goalscorer Gogocha Chungkham, who added two more goals to garner his hattrick goal as well. Later Samson Keishing, Y Banty and P Govin added one goal each for the thumping victory.

The second semi final saw Rising Athletic Union edge out Football Club Lamjao by 7-4 goals to sail into the finals.

Better poised on the turf format, Rising Athletic Union got the opening goal from Dabar in 6th minute of play but equally agile was Lamjao player L.Kishan who came up with the equaliser in the 7th minute to heighten the tempo of the game.

However, the attacking prowess of Rising Athletic Union, gave them the upper hand as N Rakesh hammered home his hat trick goals while Kushal Thapa came up with two goals and L Sushil chipped in with one goal.

FC Lamjao player L Kishan's relentless effort fetched him two more goals to register his hat trick goal while S Punsiba fetched one goal but not enough to save the game.
