IMPHAL, July 28: A football match was organized by the Group Centre CRPF, Langjing with the local Sagolband United Club as a goodwill gesture on its raising day on July 27. Both teams exhibited excellent skills and put up a spirited fight in the closely contested match. Taking advantage of young age and agility, Sagolband club dominated the game in the initial stages however the experienced CRPF gained control in the second half but were not able to score until the match was extended to extra time where the experienced players of the CRPF took control and scored the winning goal. As per the release, the chief guest, P.S Rajora, DIGP, CRPF while giving away prized stated that games and sports are the basis of inculcating a feeling of healthy competition besides improving the physical fitness and stamina. As a symbol of friendship and goodwill gesture, both teams exchanged the prized given to them in a unique gesture. The raising day continued till evening and ‘ barakhana’ was organized in the campus, which was followed by a colorful cultural function.
