Sir,
Being one of the candidate of the recently un official declared examination for recruitment of P/T Written test conducted by BOSEM and Viva Voice by Director Education (S) . It is said that the recommendation list was in order of Merit, But being a candidate, I want to empathize how far it goes in order of merit, going back to the process of appointment it might be the longest process of appointment nearly to the completed in 6 years. The result of written test was out on 16 April 2007 but without candidates names and their marks obtained but Roll Nos. Kudos for the merit basis.
At the movement, I was astonished, and eagerly asking BOSEM employees who were known to me, where to get the mark obtained by m e. i.e Written test mark, some of them responded me as, “The marks obtained list of Written test is in the Floppy Disk and was kept by the then Secy. BOSEM and no candidate is allowed to see his/her marks. Then I said to myself “Why did they conceal the mark even after declaration of the result. What hidden agenda is behind this written test marks where still kept in the cool storage. Again BOSEM issued a complaint forms by charging Rs. 100/- per head as complaint fees for those candidate whosoever failed in the written test. And if I am not mistaken around 500 candidates took the complaint forms for re-checking. Ans Khatta. Alas ! None was successful, in the rechecked and none was allowed to see even their own answer Khatta and even the failed marks after spending 100 plus Bus fare. In the recent Sangai Express News I came across one of Primary Teacher Candidate quoted as “I have given my best shot both in the Written test and Viva Voice”. But the very person is not included in the merit list recommended list of P/T published in the News paper and added that he had missed the opportunity due to his poverty. In short because of having no 3(three) Lacs.
When asked the then Director: i.e. Addl. Director of Education (S) about the appointment their answer was; Appointment or Selection of Primary Teacher should be made according to merit basis.
Now, a big question is that how far merit basis is applied in the recently recommended Primary Teacher list published in the news paper, even though it is not yet declared finally. It is an open secret that money is needed in order to get merit basis. Now it is clear that why was the mark obtained by the candidate in the written test still kept in the cold storage. Believe it or not, now if you ask any candidate how many marks they had/have secured in the written test of PT, they would never be able to answer your question though Viva Voice was already finished along tine back. But if you ask how much you paid? They will easily answer.
Now it is high time for the remedies of all, rich and poor, VVIP and un VVIP. I want to emphasize that, Firstly let the BOSEM bring out written test examination marks in white paper along with Answer Khatta before public.
Secondly, let the Director of Education (S) conduct fresh interview according to merit basis by showing the candidates mark sheet, for the goodness of every one.
Until, then there will be public unrest, particularly among the recommended and un recommended primary teachers, if not so another teachers tug of war awaits our SANA Leibak, then who will lost.
Sincerely Yours,
Sehkholet Singson,
Saikul Hill Town.
