BJP offers tributes to Kargil martyrs

IMPHAL, Jul 26: The Bharatiya Janata Party, Manipur Pradesh observed the Kargil Vijay Diwas today at two different places of the state.

A release of the party stated that on this occasion a team led by Sh. Shantikumar Sharma, president BJP, Manipur Pradesh along with S. Ibohal Singh, state vice president, Th. Shyamo Singh, state general secretary, A. Sharda, national vice president, BJP Mahila Morcha and N. Kayisii, national council member, BJP visited Kapani Asholi Memorial Residential Unit, Makhan, Senapati District, Manipur where Shaheed K. Asholi Mao, one of the martyrs of the Kargil War was buried.

The team paid floral tributes along with D. Lokho, president Makhan Union, A. Prokcho, chairman, Makhan Khullen, A. Kaisii, headman, Makhan Centre, David, chairman, Makhan Lovadziingho, A. Lihrii, chairman, New Makhan Village, A. Kashipri, social worker, martyrs family, relatives and villagers of Makhan Village, Senapati district at the graveyard of the Shaheed.

At noon, a homage ceremony was also held at the state party office at Nityaipat Chuthek, Imphal with Salam Ibohal Singh, president in-charge in the chair and M. Bhorot Singh, national executive member, Th. Shyamo Singh, state general secretary and Laimayum Bashanta, state secretary, media affairs who delivered speeches on the occasion. Around 200 party workers including state office bearers, leaders of the various morchas and cells attended the tributary function.

On this very special day, the party also paid tributes to Shaheed Nicolash Moyon of Mitong Village, Chandel district, Shaheed Ng. Bening Vir Moyon of Khukthar, Pallel, Chandel district, Shaheed S. Gerneithang of Aimol Satu, Chandel district, Shaheed K. Asholi Mao of Makhan Village, Senapati district, Shaheed Kaleshwar Kom of Khurai Puthiba Leikai, Imphal East district, Shaheed Jamkholal Vaiphei of Tangmual Village, Churachandpur district and Shaheed Daikho Mao of Senapati district along with all 527 soldiers of Indian Army who became martyrs in the Kargil War in 1999.
