Trust between communities need of the hour, and kudos to IFP for publishing during Yaosang holidays
Of late, people are curious at the same time some are restless seeing the political scenario in Manipur and wondering what the outcome would be.
Some people do not like the idea of alliance of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) with Naga Peoples Front (NPF) in forming a coalition government in Manipur, because of NPF's inclination towards NSCN-IM.
The message I would like to convey is - 'let us not be scared'. The elected MLAs of NPF are representatives of our own hill brothers and sisters too, no matter how different the points of views (or agendas) may be. This alliance might perhaps be a bridge between the communities. I feel a little trust on one another might drive away the fear of each other. Just a thought.
Also, big big kudos to team Imphal Free Press, for publishing your esteemed newspaper in print and online on your website in these ongoing days of Yaosang holidays.
Today morning, I bought a copy of Imphal Free Press from your office, though most of the newspaper houses remain shut like every year during these 5 days of Yaosang.
Thank you for keeping the citizens well informed. I believe this extraordinary step of yours and newspaper like Sanaleibak that keep publishing everyday (holiday or not), will help our society to realise that five day Yaoshang holiday is abnormal and that it hits the day today activities of everyone.
I read an editorial (Silence of Yaosang) of yours of (29th March 2016) last year post Yaosang. I wish it is republished often to make our society open their eyes to the reality, and know that there has been a quantum leap in the pace of life in the modern times, and that we cannot afford to lose so much of time in the name of Yaosang like we have been for a long long time.
