Will respect verdict: Henry

IMPHAL | Feb 16

INC candidate of Wangkhei assembly constituency, O Henry coming down heavily against the allegations made on him by the BJP of drug trafficking, he said he is ready to file defamation suit.

Okram Henry was speaking during a press meet held at his Mantripukhri residence today.

Henry said that the political leaders that are making false allegations should better be busy with developmental programmes for the youths.

Expressing his belief in the judiciary system, he said the court will decide on its verdict, and that it cannot be decided by any other person beyond the legal purview.

He further lauded the public for supporting him and said that scrutiny for his candidature was conducted fairly today at the RO concerned. He said that he will now focus on election campaign for the ensuing assembly election.

There are many pending developmental works to be done in Wangkhei constituency, he said, adding that with the support of the public he will materialise developmental works in the constituency.

He assured that developmental works will be in real term and will not remain only on documents, and promised for a new Wangkhei, a changed Wangkhei constituency.

He said that he will give priority in developing drainage system and road connectivity and will follow up with Public Distribution System (PDS), if he wins.
