Election awareness video gains popularity

IMPHAL | Feb 16

 A video on ethical voting produced and released by the district election officer, Imphal East, as part of its awareness campaign for the ensuing Manipur legislative assembly election, has garnered much popularity in social media platforms. A release said the video is an appeal to voters and candidates alike to refrain from taking and giving money for the purpose of influencing voting rights. The video, which is of duration of 127 seconds, was uploaded on the DEO Facebook page and has already been shared by more than 2000 facebook users, it said.

Within 48 hours of its release, it has reached out to more than two lakh viewers so far on social networks alone, it added.

A shorter version of the video has also been telecast on ISTV Network since February 12, it said, adding the video is directed by Deepak Shijagurumayum of Tayal Filmers and the script is by Binoranjan Oinam.

The video stars popular Manipuri film personalities including Gayatri, Narendra Ningomba and Dhanamanjuri and upcoming artiste Babloo Sagolshem and Kavita, it said.
