Jiribam All Manipur Students’ Union demands disclosure

The All Manipur Students’ Union (AMSU), District Committee, Jiribam has demanded of the Central government and state government disclosure of the framework agreement which was signed between NSCN-IM and government of India (GOI) on August 3, 2015, in a press meet held today at Jiribam Higher Secondary School.

Briefing the media persons, president of AMSU District Committee, Jiribam Y Ranjiv Singh said the framework agreement was inked between the GOI and NSCN-IM which almost past 14 months, yet the GOI and state government has not disclosed the detailed contents of the agreement due to which it arouse a big questions in the mind of the people of Manipur that how and on what conditions the agreement was signed.

In support of AMSU headquarter, the Jiribam AMSU has began the leaflets campaign at Jiribam district where the volunteers of AMSU distributed leaflets to the students and public of Jiribam and to urged the government to disclose the details of framework agreement before the 11th Assembly election of Manipur.

He further said the AMSU District Committee is prepared to set the next steps of agitation if the authority concerned does not reveal the details of framework agreement of GOI and NSCN-IM.

He also appealed to all the civil society organisations of Jiribam to extend their support in the agitation of AMSU.
