Manipuri diaspora threatens blockade

IMPHAL | Jan 10

The World Manipuri Organisation (WMO) has threatened to enforce economic blockade and block the entry of vehicles and railways trains to Nagaland via Assam if the Nagaland CM and politicians continue to instigate the Naga bodies for creating problems in Manipur.

In a memorandum submitted to the President of India WMO president L Babachand Singha said, successive CMs of Nagaland have interfered in the affairs of Manipur while also instigating Naga bodies and ‘extremists’ for creating problems.

These problems and frequent disturbances have adversely affected the security and all round development of the state, the memorandum said.

Otherwise, WMO alongwith other Manipuri sister organisations through India and world would start a mass agitation.

The memorandum was submitted on December 28, 2016 to the president of India for immediate solution.
