Veteran Cricket: DSU win against CRAU by 21 runs

IMPHAL, December 8: Dynamic Sporting Union, DSU Kwakeithel defeated CRAU, Khanam Bazar by 21 runs, in the group-A match of the ongoing 13th Manipur Veteran Cricket tournament at Langthabal Public Ground today.

The tournament is being organised by the Manipur Veteran Cricket Association. Altogether 11 teams in two groups are taking part in the tournament.

DSU won the toss and elected to bat first. In batting, DSU batsmen scored a total of 122 runs for a loss of all wickets in 29.2 overs.

Devendra’s 24 runs off 48 deliveries was the highest score of the match. Devdutta made a brisk 17 off 12 deliveries. And Bishwajit scored 12 off 18 balls.

CRAU bowlers, Rohendro took four wickets; Ibohal snatched two; Shanta and Rameshor took one wicket each.

In reply, DSU bowlers restricted the CRAU batsmen to just 101 runs in 28.1 overs.

Rameshor’s 17 runs off 35 deliveries was the highest team score. Other three batsmen Ibohal, Hiramani and Ibomcha managed to reach double digits with scores of 16, 12 and 11 off 20, 20 and 18 deliveries respectively.

DSU bowlers, N Jim took three wickets. Later, he received the man of match award.

L Krishnakumar and L Surjit were also took two wickets each. And Bishwajit took one wicket.

Model Club-A, Singjamei Chingamakha will meet Blue Hawk, Kwakeithel on Wednesday.
