An Open Letter to the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Home Minister & DGP of Manipur

Sir, with due respect, we the successful candidates of Sl/Jemadar & ASI would like to draw few lines for your kind Consideration and necessary action please.

That, as per the summoned made by the Police Headquarter through the concerned District Superintendent of Police on dated 15/07/2014, Candidates are instructed to collect documents from PHQ (not mention in detail) on the 16th July, 2014.

With a heart full of joy the selected candidates rushed to the PHQ on the date mentioned i.e. 16/7/2014. But much to the astonishment of the candidates in queue, the personnel on duty informed the postponement of issuing important document, without citing any reasons.

In due course, the strength of the candidates gain momentum and we marched towards DGP office to enquire the reason of the postponement. But we were denied entry on the pretext of non-visiting day. The gathering candidates lost patience and decided to march to the Assembly Secretariat.

In unison, we marched towards the Assembly Secretariat to aired our grievances. But we were intercepted near Thau ground by the security though the marching was peaceful and calm.

We have no other option except resorting to raise our voices (i) "Give us Appointment or eat us; (ii) we want only appointment nothing Else, (iii) Isn't 4 years too long uncle Ibobi? (iv) Save our future.

After a long altercation with security, the officer on duty consoled us that the matter has been brought to the knowledge of the Hon'ble Chief Minister, and Dy. Chief Minister. Thereafter, the candidates dispersed peacefully but with an empty heart.

On the 18th July when an Hon'ble MLA during question hours raised question to the Honourable Home Minister regarding the delayed in issuing offer forms. The Home Minister assured the House that "appointment will be given as soon as in-depth verification of the complaints and cases received regarding the recruitment process is done" ( source: Huyein Lanpao dt 19th July 2014). The commission for reverification was set up with the able leadership of Sir T. Pachau, ADGP Homeguard, to find out all the anomalies and discrepancies in the recruitment process by the State Government. After a thorough verification, certain candidates were found to be in the dark citing different cases which was published in the Imphal Free Press dt. The 5th July, 2014.

Hon'ble Sir, Are findings of the reverification Commission not trustworthy? Is this the very reason, why our appointment is being delayed? We rather prayed that all this allegations are not a stumbling blocks to our appointment.

We rather wonder! why the recent recruited MCS/MPS/MFS were given appointment at a time when we are fully frustrated and shocked by the 4(four) long years time taken by the Government in issuing Appointment Order. The grievances we encountered within this long years were like sacrificing the former job or services, age bar which make ineligible for other state and central services.

Sir, Notwithstanding all the ordeal we came across for the last four years, We would like to draw your kind sympathy for your immediate intervention and bail us out from the clutches of frustration and uncertainties that besiege our future career.
Anticipating for your immediate action. Thanking you.

Yours Sincerely,
All Selected SI/ASI & Jemadar Candidates, 2010
