CM raises state issues with centre

Chief Minister N Biren met Nripendra Misra, Principal Secretary to Prime Minister yesterday and apprised him of the status of issues raised by the Government of India and also the list of  works to be undertaken by his Government in first 100 days.

Chief Minister N Biren met Nripendra Misra, Principal Secretary to Prime Minister yesterday and apprised him of the status of issues raised by the Government of India and also the list of  works to be undertaken by his Government in first 100 days.

He also discussed in detail about potable water problem in Imphal. It was emphasised that till date only about 50% population is getting minimum potable water. In order to address the problem, the CM requested for sanctioning of about Rs. 2239 crore for drinking water schemes in Manipur.

The DPR for the same is required to be sent urgently. Further, Chief Minister has also met Rajnath Singh, Union Home Minister and urged him for sanctioning 4-5 IRBs for the State of Manipur.

Today, the Chief Minister met Prakash Javadeker, Union Minister for Human Resource Development and apprised him of the works undertaken by his Government. He also requested Javadeker to consider establishing at least one Model School in each district, as well as to make IGNTU Regional Centre as a full fledged University.

The Chief Minister also met today the Union DONER minister Dr. jitendra Singh and urged him to emphasise upon the Ministry of Civil Aviation to ask Air India to start operating direct flights between Delhi and Imphal from this summer vacation. This will not only attract tourist/investors and also enable many students who are studying in Delhi to reach home quickly.

He has also requested him to consider onetime investment for procurement of two helicopters and setting up basic required facilities of about Rs. 130 crore (Rs. 120 crore for two helicopter and Rs. 10 crore for ancillary facilities) for Air Dispensary-cum-Ambulance services in Manipur.

Chief Minister further requested Hon’ble MOS(IC) for DoNER to consider the priority list for 2016-17 submitted by the State Government for funding under NLCPR and sanction the projects at the earliest since working season is very limited in the State.
